Mirko Vucinic

The Roma striker was a little confused why United needed him?

Potential United target Roma’s Mirko Vucinic is set to sign for Juventus according to the latest reports. The Montenegrin has been linked with a move to Old Trafford after his Vucinic’s agent claimed he’d been in talks with the club.

Any potential move to United now looks dead though as the Metro notes:

“Juventus have apparently agreed a £15.7 million fee with Roma, even though the Giallorossi had previously put a £17 million price tag on Vucinic.

“The player is thinking over a four-year contract offer and the transfer is likely to be completed over the weekend or early next week.”

The idea of Vucinic joining United did seem a tad strange to say the least as with six strikers at the club already, spending money on another one who has never played in the Premier League and at 27 has virtually no resale value.

We have enough quality strikers already, so report that we are interested in Vicinic are just rumours by the press, since they ran out of players to link us to

YOU are shit! Vucinic is a brilliant player. Extreme creativity. But we are searching for midfielders…

  4. we have more strikers than we know what to do with. we don’t need another

Good news even though I don’t think we where ever interested. It didn’t make sense because Gill and Ferguson are in America. Who could his agent have talked too? Also the bigger point being we have too many strikers as it is. Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Welbeck and Owen is more than enough. We should sell Diouf and Obertan and then loan out Macheda for the season.

The area that needs recruiting is obvious and hopefully Gill and Ferguson can sign a midfielder. Other than a top central midfielder, I feel we have a good squad. We have a good blend of youth in the squad with De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Rafeal, Fabio, Evans, Cleverley, Anderson, Hernandez and Welbeck.

Haha, well I’m sure agents use that crazy new invention called the telephone.

In any case, I agree and it was probably just a ploy from his agent to drum up more interest. Absolutely no room for him and why bring in a poor man’s Berbatov?

      • RogerL says:

He is not a poor man´s Berbatov. You don´t know what You´re talking about…

Really, I don’t know what I’m talking about? You just said above he has “extreme creativity”. That sounds a bit familiar to a number 9 striker of similar stature whom we already possess. Given his similar qualities, but less impressive accomplishments and strike rate, I’d say “a poor man’s Berbatov” is quite accurate.
