Carlos Tevez

Not so funny now is it City fans?

It seems Carlos Tevez’s City ordeal could be over with the news that a club has finally decided to take a chance on the Argentinean striker.

The BBC notes:

Irish League club Limavady United have offered Manchester City superstar Carlos Tevez an escape route from his troubles with the Premier League club.

The County Londonderry team’s vice-chairman David Brewster faxed City on Wednesday afternoon offering to take the multi-million pound striker on loan for the rest of the season.

It follows City manager Roberto Mancini’s vow that Tevez would never play for him again after the Argentina international failed to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich in a Uefa Champions League game on Tuesday night.

Limavady United play in the second tier of Northern Ireland football, with opponents including Harland and Wolff Welders and Ballinamallard FC.

Mr Brewster said the club would be willing to take Tevez on loan and keep him fit, if City agreed to continue to pay his wages.

“Pursuant to the well publicised comments of your manager yesterday evening to the effect that Carlos Tevez would not be permitted to play for your club again, may I on behalf of Limavady United FC indicate our willingness to assist you with a difficult problem,” his statement said.

“We would be perfectly willing to take Mr Tevez on loan for the remainder of the season or until transfer, thereby permitting him to play football but without the risk of being cup-tied for the Champions League.

“Limavady United play in the championship in Northern Ireland and our manager would be happy to accommodate Mr Tevez within his squad.

“Naturally, our club would not be in a position to discharge Mr Tevez’s wages but I am sure you can see the advantages of keeping him match fit prior to any possible sale.”

The offer has yet to receive a response from Manchester City.

Fair play to Limavady for taking a punt on Tevez when most of football seems destined to turn their back on him. Maybe he can do a job agains the mighty Wolff Welders.

    • BengalRED says:

as long as you’re with our players…..

      • HeavyRiffs says:

No offence pal, but that doesn’t even make sense…

If you are trying to say we’re obsessed with Nited’s players, which ones would they be exactly?

        • BengalRED says:

tevez, hargreaves(the players we rejected) & during Rooney saga you tried to lure him with your money! With the former two your club tried to tarnish our image & distract us.Now its getting back to you! Its KARMA pal!
& with those bunch of marcenary players of your it will get worse! Honestly I think your club were better with petrov & elano. At least you were bigger than the players then!!!

        • HeavyRiffs says:

Dear oh dear, you are getting your knickers in a twist aren’t you. If you rejected the players like you say, then surely they weren’t good enough for Nited, so why do you care where they now ply their trade?
Tarnish your image and distract you, by signing players that were no longer contracted to you, I’m sure that makes some sort of sense, on some level in your head.
Let’s face it, Rooney had your lot over a barrel and took you for 250K per week, every club has their mercenaries. At least when Tevez handed in and then withdrew his transfer request, he stayed on the new contract. Rooney stated he wanted to leave for “footballing reasons”, yet got a bit pay rise.
You really need to look closer to home pal, worry about your own club, we’ll worry about ours, toodle pip.

Says the Bitter on a United Blog

      • HeavyRiffs says:

Yet the piece was about a City player and the City team, irony not your strong point eh?

        • RedManc says:

Irony is your on a United Blog trawling through articles responding to every comment – I’m sure there are City blogs ripping the piss out of United – you won’t see me sniffing around on them…

        • HeavyRiffs says:

It’s a story about City and a City player, that finds its way on to news aggregator such as NewsNow, because, wait for it, it’s about City!

        • RedManc says:

Unlike real City fans who chose to ignore – you sniff around United blogs. Obsessed!

        • HeavyRiffs says:

Some logic that, I choose to respond, therefore I’m not a real City fan? Well, with reasoning like that, I bet getting out of bed is a real challenge to you on a daily basis.
Again, City story, City player, merely defending my club, not my fault I’m spanking you with every reply. If you can’t take it my obsessed friend, I suggest you keep quiet, maybe do your homework instead.

It’s so very very funny that the poster still bothers you till this day. Unfortunately, you will take it to your grave with you. So so funny.

  3. bob hoskins says:

Do you honestly think that’s humourous?

I dread to think what Xmas at your house is like.

  4. Duke says:

@mm. that poster is very funny because it shows Tevez celebrating a goal against City. The colour does not change things. BTW City have become the richest laughing stock of the CL in just two matches. Compliments to Mancini.

It is funny that you are still bothered by it.
      Obsessed you are. lmfao
He was instrumental in our rise. He can be congratulated for that. As for CL, you have 1 point more in a far easier group. What was it 2-0 up and only JUST achieved a draw. move on – get therapy

      • Duke says:

At least we kept our record in the CL. We will see who through eventually. Remember the last time you were 2-0 up? Lost the Community Shield to US and lost 2 points to Fulham.

Unlike you sad lot, we have pedigre in the CL only Barca have prevented up overtaking Liverpool as Britsh record holders of the CL final wins.

You can be as proud as like about a blue poster depicting an x Manu player scoring against city!

  8. Gorse Hill Red says:

Tevez has showed what Citeh really are; just a small club with even smaller minded owners. Don’t blame him not wanting to play for that club.

    • HeavyRiffs says:

Small club with a full ground every PL game, small minded owners that are regenerating the area around the ground, pumping billions into the project. That benefits the area, community, club and creates jobs.
I’ll take that kind of small, all day long…

  9. Anneeq Anwar says:

lol we have GOT TO show this banner during derby day!!! I dont know about u City fans but this is HILARIOUS for us lot! The fact that u were gloating that he was stolen from us and then the guy refuses to play for u when asked to….

    • HeavyRiffs says:

Yeah, it’s proper funny, he banged in shit loads of goals for two seasons. Goaded Baconface and Neville, but now we have to rely on Dzeko, Aguero and Balotelli and could only scrape a 4-0 away victory without him yesterday, we’re well fucked.

      • RedManc says:

You call us obsessed and your responding to almost every post on a United Blog, mmm…

        • HeavyRiffs says:

A United blog about a City player and the City team, irony really isn’t your strong point is it?

In an empty room, with no friends…

      • RedManc says:

76,000 is never empty, we are having the last laugh and we are laughing the loudest! “20,000 empty seat are you fucking sure?!”

        • HeavyRiffs says:

Never empty, are you fucking sure?
Premier League games are sold out pal, week in, week out. Don’t even go there about City and cup games either, as your lot had 30-40,000 empty seats in the Carling Cup against Wolves not so long ago. This from a clun that FORCES it’s fans to pay for Cup games they may not even want. Laugh all you want pal, me persoanlly, I’m pissing myself at your expense…

        • RedManc says:

How funny are you still sniffing around on a United Blog?! The attendance was 46,083 for the Wolves game close to your capacity! What was your attendance for that round of the League Cup?
Considering your trying to lead a United Blog into believing your a City fan – how come you are familiar with Manchester United pricing? Not only do you often visit United Blogs you also keep a watch on our polices?! Interesting…. Pretty two-faced of you to bring the integrity of our club into question when your Marketing Dept referred to United Fans as “Munichs” in one of your Match Programmes don’t you think?
The point your missing is this article was a statement of what goes around comes around and we are now having the last laugh since Kettle Neck REFUSED to play for you – says it all really. Even £250,000 p/w wasn’t tempting enough. I really do look forward to your childish rants, keep us posted – always good for a laugh Citeh fans….

        • HeavyRiffs says:

Your wish is my command: –
You have a pop at our attendences, yet say nothing about your own against Wolves, other than it is almost equal to our grounds capacity. That has what to do with it exactly, it’s your ground that you didn’t fill, or was it played at the Etihad then?
Yes, I’m aware of Nited’s pricing system, it’s in the media, I live in Manchester and some friends and family are rags, hardly keeping watch on your “policies”. But it’s really, really funny, that your lot get continually bent over a barrel, so yeah, I do read up.
The marketing dept didn’t refer to your lot as “Munichs”, it was on a fans page in the programme and obviously slipped through quality control, as the club immediately apologised. Plus the fact that it was 11 years ago now, hardly current, but well done you for playing the “Munich” card.

As previously said, laugh all you want, we’ve had two good years out of him, now we have Dzeko, Balo and Aguero, no doubt with another World class player to fill the Tevez void once he’s shipped out. Happy days, toodle pip.

        • RedManc says:

Happy Days? 1 F.A Cup to your name in God knows how many years? Just waiting for the good old “times are changing” rant next.
OK, our attendance was 46,083 low for us but “massive” for small clubs like Shitty! And your pulling 1 attendance out of the bag when we fill Old Trafford 99.99% of the time? Fuck me you bitters live up to your name.
Funny how you never mention other Clubs, just United.Mmmmm, interesting. Since you love our Blogs so much Republik of Mancunia have released an app, you should download it. You are publically showing a load of UNITED FANS how pathetic you and your fans are.
Ballo the strop and Dzeko the donkey? Give me Rooney and Hernandez any day.

        • HeavyRiffs says:

The happy days refers to batting off your feeble attempts, but yes, also how happy I am with our World class strikers. The donkey has 6 goals, the strop has 3 in 3.
Would you fill your ground for all cup games, if you weren’t forced to buy the tickets irrespectively? PL games, we’re full, some European and Cup games we’re not, but you bought up those stats and then call us obsessed. Fuck me, you really are priceless, you know, like white dog shit is.
I mentioned Nited, as this story is about City, yet a Nited fan is the one all over it. So why would I disuss Spuds, Arse, barcodes et al, when you’re the one ranting and comparing yourselves to us?
We fill this, we won this, we’re followed by this many, the mantra of the blinkered red, with one foot firmly in the past.

        • HeavyRiffs says:

Oh and just to clarify and maybe to calm you down somewhat, I think you misinterpreted my response to your “laughs last, laughs loudest” comment. When I said in an empty room with no friends, that referred to you as an indiviual and was nothing to do with The Swamp, my red tinted glasses wearing fool, bless ya.

      • RedManc says:

Just got back off Holiday and your still ranting, brilliant!
Yeah, mate – I sit in a room with no friends yeah, yeah. Got no life me mate, got no money me mate – yeah proper loser me mate.

Check our Cup attendances before The Glazers took over and tell me your findings….

Bullshit claims, how very Citeh of you Bitter.
