De Gea – Pulled off a great reaction save midway through the second half but couldn’t do much with the two goals. 6/10

Rafael – Bullied the Ajax defence for the majority of the game. Made several runs into the oppositions half and even managed to work their keeper. 8/10

Smalling – Did relatively well given the circumstances but may feel he could have done better with the aerial threats that he was faced with, in particular from set-pieces. 6/10

Jones – Looked lost and out of his depth when playing at centre back. Weak clearance lead to the first goal and was shaky throughout. Finished the game off in midfield. 5/10

Fabio – Seemed to fit in well at the back when compared to his usual performances. Hope for more of the same from him from now on. Assured. 7/10

Nani – Didn’t see much of the ball but when he did, his decision making was much better than the previous tie in Amsterdam. Unlucky not to score. 6/10

Park – Although he was played out of position, he still worked tirelessly throughout the game. Made several interceptions and did relatively well in his unfamiliar role. 6/10

Cleverley – Sharp touch on the ball as always but failed to track back and provide any real protection for the defence. Faded in and out of the game before being brought off by Sir Alex. 5/10

Young – Probably his worst performance in a United shirt this season. Clearly lacking in confidence which resulted in him vanishing completely after starting off well. Seemed to drift into a left back position alongside Fabio at one point. 4/10

Berbatov – The focal point of everything that went right in our attacking play. Always looked to play in his strike partner and finished off with an assist to his name. 7/10

Hernandez – Strong, shaper and faster. Held the ball up well and positioned himself brilliantly when running off the defenders shoulders. Finished his chance well and thoroughly deserved the goal. 7/10

Subs:

Evans – Brought some much needed steel into the defensive setup. Broke up play well as per usual and even confident enough to dribble the ball out of defence rather than clearing hastily. 6/10

Scholes – Came on to instil some much needed authority into the midfield battle between the two teams. Did so initially but his influence faded towards the end. Expected more from him. 6/10

Welbeck – Made a decent run which should have lead to Chicharito finishing the game off right before the Ajax second. 5/10

Seems like Chico’s hitting form! Eso es Chicharo! Man I hope Valencia gets well soon. Young, Cleverley, and Nani need to improve, otherwise the other teams will keep dominating our midfield. We can only wait and see.

who gives these ratings, cause he was not watching the match, from goalkeeper out it should read,4,4,3,2,4,0,1,0,0,1,3 subs 3,3,3 fergie -1.

    Missed Carrick.

I know he was being rested but United always give away too many chances when he’s absent.
