David de Gea – Could do nothing about any of the goals. Was left badly exposed by his defenders, but still conceded four goals. 6

Rafael – Was a good source of attack. Looked dangerous going forward. Once again, he linked well withValencia. Could have had a penalty in the first half. 6

Jonny Evans – A slight repeat of his Wigan nightmare. He was out of position for all four goals and could not get anywhere near Jelavic or Fellaini all day. 4

Rio Ferdinand- Ditto for Evans. Almost the hero at the end, but for a great save by Tim Howard. 4

Patrice Evra- People are calling for time on Patrice Evra’s Old Trafford career, and following today’s performance, you can see why. Constantly out of position, and missed a crucial header at 4-2 . 3

Antonio Valencia- Quiet in the first half, but as soon as he got more involved in the game, United were excellent and score three second half goals. We’re becoming reliant on the Ecuadorian. 7

Paul Scholes- Couldn’t control the tempo of the match as he has been able to do in recent games. Almost scored with a deflected trademark “Scholes strike” in the first half. 6

Michael Carrick- Solid, if not productive. Didn’t really do much wrong all game. A poor pass to Welbeck on the edge of the Everton box from a United break just before the second Everton goal. 6

Nani- It was a surprise to see him start ahead of Young, but justified selection. Was a menace all day and his balls into the box caused mayhem, especially for first United goal. Cool finish too. 7

Wayne Rooney- Like against Villa, he wasn’t outstanding, but he got himself two landmark goals against his former club. Formed a Cole-Yorke style partnership with Welbeck. 7

Danny Welbeck- United’s man of the match. Worked tirelessly, closing down all game. Fantastically taken goal, and great movement for United’s fourth. 8

Subs.

Javier Hernandez- Brought on with a minute of time remaining, and barely had a kick. 5

Phil Jones- Only contribution was a wasted cross in stoppage time. 4

  3. kc says:

Fuck the 4 defenders, can’t wait to see them all kicked out. If they play against City, then United will cocede 3 goals at least. Bring back Smalling.

  4. Blablabla says:

Do you think Rooney didn’t celebrate his first goal because we were 1-0 down or is he trying to cool his everton “feud”?

I unlike most of you still belive we shall go to shitty and sort this out once and for all.

its what its been gearing to and lets face it the conspiracy theorist out there will all say that.

Hoever reading through the marks given for each player……ferdinand was never worth a 4,

the rolls royce of the team should now find his way down the road, because he was truly awful.

‘Out of position for all 4 goals’

What the hell did you want Evans to do for the 1st and 4th goals? Mark multiple players? It’s difficult to earmark 1 player who was at fault for the 1st, but maybe Nani/Evra for letting the cross actually come in. The 4th is clearly all Rafael’s fault. Scholes pointed at Pienaar and told him to mark. Rafael just let him go.
