The following ratings are based on several factors including the following:

-How much was expected of the player beforehand and their importance to the team.

– How well they played throughout the season.

– Consistency in their performances.

– How much they improved during the season.

12) Chris Smalling – After such an impressive first season at the club it was always going to be difficult for Smalling to maintain his form but the boy started the season off with a flyer. His excellent touch, accurate crosses and ability to read the game allowed him to be thrown around between his usual centre-back position and as a right-back yet the youngster looked as sharp as ever regardless of wherever he was played. Sadly though, after an excellent run-in the squad, a series of unfortunate niggles kicked in and sidelines Chris for a long enough while for him to lose consistency and confidence. Still, when he feature he was very impressive and will only get better once/if he stays fit next season. 7

13) Park Ji-Sung – A shocking year for Park would pretty much go down as an understatement. Known for his reliability and consistency of putting in a shift, the South Korean looked out of form and out of fitness. Although he was frequently played out of his usual winger role, you would still have expected much more from someone who’s as experienced as he is. If he is to still be at Old Trafford next season, much more is required from him or else he will be out sooner than he can imagine. 4

14) Chicharito – Another player who shone in his debut season at the club, a lot was expected of Hernandez but after being dropped for Danny Welbeck before he had even been given the chance to prove himself this season, and after his humiliation at Wembley against Barcelona, the youngsters confidence looked shot and understandably so. Whenever he received the ball  his touch was off, his link up play was poor and he was easily outmuscled by the smallest of players. More worryingly so is that he will not be having a much needed break this summer to get his head sorted as he will no doubt feature in Mexico’s Olympic team. 5

15) Nemanja Vidic – Not much can be said about the United captain after his injury against FC Basel in the Chanpions League left him ruled out for months on end. Although the reemergence of Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans may go down as a result of Vidic’s injury, it would be hard to not look back at the season and wonder what could have been had we had our captain fit throughout. 5

16) Michael Carrick – A decent start to the season followed by a complete transformation around the winter period resulted in what might have been Carrick’s best season to date. Strong in his tackles, creative with his passes and dominant in midfield, the 30 year old went some way to silencing his critics this season. Having said that, it is clear that he is still somewhat under-appreciated by many as he lost out on a place with the England squad this summer. 9

17) Luis Nani – With Antonio Valencia in the form of his life, it was always going to be difficult for Nani to replicate his sensational form from the season past. The problems didn’t stop there for the winger as he found himself sidelined for long periods at a time with various niggling injuries. When he did play though, Nani has been very impressive with getting some goals to his name as well as assisting in the bucket loads. 6

18) Ashley Young – A very impressive debut season for United’s big summer signing. Although he found his form slumped during midseason, Ashley picked himself up again and started showing what a dangerous player he can be for United. Expect much more from the England international next season. 7

19) Danny Welbeck – Words can not describe the strides Danny has taken this season. Hard working, a decent touch and most importantly, a footballing brain, the youngster has demonstrated that he has all the qualities to not only make it at Old Trafford, but to eventually become our focal  attacking threat. 8

20) Fabio Da Silva – After ending the last season as our starting full-back, more injuries further hampered Fabio’s progress throughout the season which left him either sidelined or trying to regain match fitness with the reserves. He should be back to his best once he returns from his loan the season after next. 4

Giving 2 strikers with the same amount of goals completely different ratings? Sure, Danny contributed a lot to attack, but hadn’t it been for Chicharito, we would’ve dropped points at ANFIELD, STAMFORD BRIDGE, would’ve also gotten kicked out of Europa League before we even realised it. You’re completely underrating him.

So he’s not talking about the United player Welbeck?
