De Gea – Made several good saves and always assured when called upon. Also promising when dealing with aerial balls. 7

Jones – Offered very little when attacking thanks to a number of careless misplaced passes and even worse crosses. 4

Smalling – Fitted in seamlessly at the back and even confident enough to play the sweeper role at times. Great to have him fit again. 7

Rio – Solid at the back and always involved with the attacking side of play, his performance highlighted how good he’s been for us this season. 7

Evra – More solid than usual at the back today but then again, much more wasteful with his attacking play. 6

Valencia – Saw plenty of the ball and credit to him for always being involved but it just didn’t work out for him. Crossing was off and he just didn’t seem like he could beat his man. 6

Carrick – Broke up play well and offered much going forward with his vision and creative passing. 7

Scholes – Dictated the midfield and controlled the game to his liking to the extent that no one else came close to him. Scored a delightful goal to go with. 8

Young – Lively and energetic, always involved with our attacks and took every opportunity to get into the box. Scored a cracker. 7

Rooney – Slow, clumsy and not interested. I can’t be the only one whose worried by the lack of passion shown by Wayne this season. 5

Hernandez – Always involved in the game for a brief period, then disappeared for another 30 minutes. Looks mentally and physically shattered. 4

Subs:

Cleverley – Brought on to inject some energy into the midfield and did that to a slight extent. 6

Berbatov – No surprise that he looked off-pace after coming on since he hasn’t played for so long. 5

Rafael – Barely had time to get a touch of the ball. 5

Drawing on your experiences can anybody advise me how to spell the word ‘ championes’ in the song you used to sing. Is it championees or championis’ I don’t want to get it embarrassingly wrong next week. Also, I am looking for a professional banner maker. Any suggestions?
