Despite what you may have been led to believe by the media hype, Wayne Rooney is not single-handedly taking on the Ukrainian national side tonight. In fact there’s ten other players joining Wazza as England attempt to go through to the quarter finals of the European Championships for only the third time in three decades.

After the impressive attacking display against Sweden which was in no small measure down to Theo Walcott, many expected the Arsenal man to start tonight at the expense of the average James Milner. England boss Roy Hodgson has decided to keep faith with Milner- no doubt due to the cover he provides the less than inspiring Glen Johnson.

The only change from the starting eleven that faced Sweden is Andy Carroll making way for the returning Wayne Rooney. England will be hoping to finish top of the group and avoid a quarter final match against World Champions Spain, but a lot also depends on how France perform against Sweden.

With the Swedes already on their way home, it’s unlikely they’ll vie Laurent Blanc’s men too tough a test, but that shouldn’t matter, the most important thing is an England victory and this is the side expected to deliver it:

England XI vs Ukraine: Joe Hart; Glen Johnson, John Terry, Lescott, Ashley Cole; James Milner, Steven Gerrard, Scott Parker, Ashley Young; Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney.
