Could another Dutch master be on his way to United?

Could another Dutch master be on his way to United?

PSV Eindhoven’s Kevin Strootman could be heading to Old Trafford as soon as January if reports in the Dutch press are to be believed. Speculation is growing that Eindhoven are already resigned to losing the influential midfielder and have already earmarked a replacement in Swedish international Oscar Hiljemark, who’s Elfsborg side have just won the country’s league title.

Although many believe it might not be till the Summer that United move for Strootman, with three league defeats already this season and the possibility of both Chelsea and Man City adding to their squads in January, Sir Alex may have to strengthen what is obviously the Reds’ achilles heel.

Strootman’s agent Chiel Dekker recently ruled out a January move for his client, but should United offer the right money and with PSV seemingly having a replacement lined-up then a deal could happen sooner than expected.

Strootman may not be the box-to-box marauder many fans feel United need but he’s certainly not afraid of a challenge and also looks extremely confident on the ball.

Normally I wouldn’t listen to any transfer rumours involving Dutch midfielders coming to Old Trafford but unlike the Wesley Sneijder one, this may have a little bit of truth to it….
