Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra have been named on the 20 strong shortlist for the world fifpro XI 2012.  Over 50,000 professional footballers from across the world recieved nominating forms and got the chance to choose the eleven players they think deserve to be in the fifpro XI. The 20 strong defenders shortlist will be followed by a list of 15 midfielder and 15 strikers.

The final FIFA FIFPro World XI will be announced at the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala in Zurich  on the 7th January next year.

The defender shortlist in full:

Jordi Alba (Spain, Barcelona); Gareth Bale (Wales, Tottenham Hotspur); Giorgio Chiellini (Italy, Juventus); Ashley Cole (England, Chelsea); Dani Alves (Brazil, Barcelona); David Luiz (Brazil, Chelsea); Patrice Evra (France, Manchester United); Rio Ferdinand (England, Manchester United); Mats Hummels (Germany, Borussia Dortmund); Branislav Ivanovic (Serbia, Chelsea); Vincent Kompany (Belgium, Manchester City); Philipp Lahm (Germany, Bayern Munich), Marcelo (Brazil, Real Madrid); Javier Mascherano (Argentina, Barcelona); Pepe (Portugal, Real Madrid); Gerard Piqué (Spain, Barcelona); Carles Puyol (Spain, Barcelona); Sergio Ramos (Spain, Real Madrid); John Terry (England, Chelsea); Thiago Silva (Brazil, Paris St-Germain).

Both Rio and Evra have made the fifpro team in the past, with Ferdinand being in the XI in 2008, while the stand-in skipper made the 2009 side.

The only reason this racist (EVRA)
asshole made it is because he plays for MANU. This asshole cannot even defend Suarez. How come Martin Caceres didn´t make it on the list. Caceres is ten times better than this fucking asshole
