Could the winger be used to tempt Madrid?

It has always amazed me how a player being injured and simply doing nothing at all can increase his importance to the side.

At the start of the season, Portuguese winger Nani was clearly lacking in form and not playing very well at all.

To be honest many predicted he would be sold by the end of August and if not on that date, definitely in the January transfer window – however, with Antonio Valencia lacking that creative spark of season’s past and Ashley Young more of a workhorse than a threat these days, the prospect of Nani starting a game has become very exciting and all thoughts of a departure seem a distant memory.

He, along with Brazilian midfielder Anderson are both ready for action and in the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.

Keeping on the topic of injuries, both Jones and Rooney are set to miss out this weekend but Sir Alex has confirmed it should not be too long until both players are fully fit.

Positive news coming from Old Trafford is that Chris Smalling has recently gone public in stating his happiness to be over his injury nightmare and playing regularly for United.

The young lad from London still has time on his side and years ahead of him, but has found life frustrating watching from the sidelines.

Another London born defender and let’s be honest, a United veteran – Rio Ferdinand is now into the last leg of his contract with the club. Tabloids suggest Rio will sign on the dotted line for another year….. or will he be tempted by the States?

We all know Rio has other passions outside of the footballing world so might see the opportunity to take over as the golden boy in the MLS now Mr Beckham has moved on as too big an chance to miss.
