United travel to Loftus Road this afternoon knowing a win will put the Reds 15 points clear at the top of the table with only 11 games left to play.

Last season showed that United fans can never take any lead in the title race for granted but even the most pessimistic fan would find it difficult not to see title number 20 arriving at Old Trafford in the next few months.

With Manchester City entertaining Chelsea tomorrow, a tough game, given even added edge with Roberto Mancini’s recent criticism of his players and should United win today the pressure will be on the champions.

Sir Alex has chosen a strong side the question is will it be strong enough to beat a team that desperately need three points to climb out of the relegation zone.

Nani has done enough it seems to gatecrash the party.

United line up: De Gea; Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra; Nani Giggs Carrick, Young; Chicharito RVP
