Nick Powell and Jesse Lingard grabbed the goals as United’s under 21 side drew 2-2 with Arsenal at Moss Lane.

Arsenal took the lead after eleven minutes through Chuba Akpom before Powell equalised barely five minutes later. Jesse Lingard put the Reds in front a few minutes later with a classy finish before Akpom levelled the scores with a goal for the Gunners, for a final time on the half hour mark.

Frederic Veseli who’s move from the blue half of Manchester to the Red hasn’t quite gone as the Swiss defender would have wanted was subbed with ten minutes of the first half after picking up an injury.

United could have had a penalty when Akpom handled in his own area but all in all it was a fairly evenly contested match.

Arsenal always pride themselves on their youngsters so a draw with the Gunners is never too bad a result.

United: Amos; Veseli (McGinty 36), Fornasier, Brown, Vermijl; Januzaj, Thorpe, Tunnicliffe, Cole, Lingard; Powell. Subs not used: Sutherland, Blackett, Lawrence, Ekangamene.
