De Gea – Dealt with everything well and created no fuss about it. Made one terrific save and showed is good footwork late on with a difficult back-pass. 7

Jones – Brought in to compete with Stoke’s physicality and showed that he’s up for the job. Solid at the back but disappointing going forward. 6

Vidic – No fuss from the big Serb has he won everything that came his way in the air and gave the Stoke attackers no time to play their game. 8 (MotM)

Ferdinand – Another solid display for the veteran as he looks to recreate his wonderful partnership alongside Nemanja. 7

Evra – Added little going forward but did just about enough at the back to make amends. Not his best game but not his worst either. 5

Valencia – Carried the ball forward well at times but lacked any real final product. How many times have we said that this season? 5

Carrick – His usual brilliant self down the middle of the park today. He even managed to grab himself a rare goal to go with. 7

Rooney – Played as a deep midfielder and did surprisingly well considering the circumstances. Nothing spectacular but still good enough on the day there. 7

Kagawa – Praised by many today but did little for me. Lost the ball all too often by a simple misplaced pass or over-dribbling it. Not impressed. 5

Hernandez – Managed to grab himself a rare start but failed to do anything memorable. Didn’t get bullied physically though which was nice. 5

Van Persie – Again, not his best game but at least he managed to end his ongoing drought in front of goal. Had a brilliant goal celebration lined up too. 6

you rate kagawa’s performance equal with Valencia’s???smh if kagawa is 5 then Valencia should be 2.

Were you at the game . How can you give Valencia 5
I would say 3 at the most

kagwa wasnt bad except for giving away the ball to opposition too often —i wud give him 6
few players need tensioning up eg EVRA, HERNANDES
and even WELBECK and valencia,,,these players contribution is very little—we must try both evra and butner on the left ie 1 on the left backs and 1 as left midfield

With respect I would ask you to watch again and still give Jones a mere 6. He was solid defensively and creative and powerful going forward. There were a number of players in contention for man of the match and Jones was one of them.
