Everton boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed that the club hasn’t received an improved offer from Manchester United for Leighton Baines.

It was reported that the Reds made an initial bid of £12 million for the left back a few weeks ago, yet new boss Martinez confirmed this morning that the club hasn’t received any more offers for Baines.

Asked whether the club had received any more offers for Baines- or Marouane Fellaini, Martinez noted:

“Not at all,  I know thats not something you wanna hear but its clearly what its been in the last few weeks. “

Reporter: “Are you surprised that United haven’t followed up that initial bid?”

Martinez: “No, no, the last concern that I have it what the other clubs do.”

This may come as a surprise to many fans and pundits who expected United to return with an improved offer for Baines, although with the club focusing its attention of Cesc Fabregas there’s always the chance the Reds could return to Everton once the Cesc saga ends.

Comes as a surprise to no-one as Baines is not good enough for Manchester United. No Utd fan is upset about this lack of interest as we was all disgusted that Moyes even made a bid for Baines when we have 3 great leftbacks at the club. Evra, Fabio & Buttner are the clubs left-backs, we do not needs Baines and he is not good enough for our club, neither is Fellaini. United should only belooking at quality players like Fabregas……not Everton players as they dont have anyone good enough to wear the ManUtd shirt.
