Jones could be back tonight to face the Baggies

United travel to the Hawthorns tonight looking for their first away win of the season. The 15 day gap between tonight’s fixture against WBA and the ‘recent’ home win over Everton has seemed like a lifetime, but the good thing is it’s allowed a few players to creep back towards fitness.

Whilst United still have an injury list that would make an army medical tent blush, there is some good news for Louis Van Gaal. There’s rumours surfacing that Ander Herrera could play tonight wearing a protective corset following his recent rib injuries but LVG may be tempted to throw Michael Carrick back into the mix. United face both Chelsea and Manchester City soon and Herrera is vital to those two games. It could be a huge gamble but resting the Spaniard in favour of Carrick – himself still getting back to match fitness- could be a risk worth taking.

Phil Jones is also likely to return tonight which is great news considering he was one of the few players who didn’t embarrass himself in the opening games of the season.

Here’s a predicted line up for tonight.

[4-3-3] David De Gea, Rafael, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata, Radamel Falcao, Robin Van Persie.

Do you agree?
