RVP admits his Old Trafford future isn’t guaranteed.

One criticism of Sir Alex Ferguson has been his last few United signings failed to live up to the high standards set by the great man. Players such as Wilfried Zaha, Alexander Buttner and Nick Powell didn’t live up to expectations but one signing who did of course was Robin Van Persie.

In many ways RVP has been the focal point of the past three United managers since his arrival at Old Trafford as his prolific goalscoring exploits gifted Sir Alex his final title, his many absences during David Moyes’ reign helped contribute to the manager’s downfall and vital goals against Chelsea and Southampton this season have kept Louis Van Gaal in touch with his target of a top four finish.

Despite his importance Van Persie has admitted he’s unsure whether he’ll be offered a new deal past his current one that expires in 2016. At 31 time isn’t on the Dutchman’s side and like Radamel Falcao the rest of the season could be vital in his long term United future.

The Mirror runs the story of Van Persie’s future as well as one of how Sir Alex has been earning around £100,000 a day for his work as a United ambassador, but who could really question whether he deserves it?
