Could Valdes start tonight?

United travel to Cambridge for the FA Cup tonight with Louis Van Gaal looking to bring the trophy back to Old Trafford for the first time since 2004. Cambridge are currently mid table in League Two and despite the debacle at MK Dons earlier this season it’s obvious Van Gaal will be able to use some of his fringe squad this evening.

The Reds boss has been willing to give youth a chance all season and we can expect the same tonight as he makes the most of the chance to finally rest some of his big stars.

With no buyers coming in for Anderson, despite the Reds being keen to sell, Van Gaal could use tonight’s game to put the Brazilian misfit in the shop window.

Here’s how the RedsĀ could line up at the Abbey Stadium against the other United:

4-3-2-1 formation: Victor Valdes, Rafael, Chris Smalling, Tyler Blackett, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Anderson, Adnan Januzaj, Jesse Lingard, Radamel Falcao.
