Rooney-World-ClassUnited travel to Southampton on Sunday hoping to take advantage of the Saints poor form this season- not to mention the lift the Reds had from the recent victory over Liverpool. Skipper Wayne Rooney is expected to return to the side in all likelihood replacing Anthony Martial whose heroics last weekend made him an instant fans’ favourite at Old Trafford.

The main talking point won’t be the return of Rooney but how Louis Van Gaal is going to shuffle his pack in the wake of Luke Shaw’s horrific injury against PSV Eindhoven with the smart money being on Daley Blind being moved to left back and Marcos Rojo coming next to Chris Smalling.

Morgan Schneiderlin could get a start against his former club after missing out recently, while Phil Jones has begun training but isn’t at match fitness level just yet.

Here’s how United could line up against the Saints:

4-2-3-1: David De Gea, Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin, Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney.
