United could be set to go head to head with rivals Chelsea over another winger following this Summer’s tug of war for Barcelona star Pedro which ended with the Spaniard moving to Stamford Bridge when he seemed destined for Old Trafford.

The latest reports indicate the Reds and the Pensioners are chasing one of Europe’s brightest young stars.

The Daily Star notes:

Manchester United hold winger talks ahead of winter move but Chelsea want to steal deal.

Chelsea and Manchester United are scrapping for Dutch whizz kid Tahith Chong.

The 15-year-old winger is one of the most highly-rated youth players in Holland and can leave Feyenoord when he turns 16 in December.

United were linked with a move for Chong last September after sending scouts to watch him at the Premier Cup tournament.

It would be foolish to claim which club Chong is set to sign for as there’s so many variables it’s far too soon to even know how concrete either side’s interest in the teenager is but let’s just hope this doesn’t turn into another Jon Obi Mikel debacle.
