England’s recent game with France may have been  more a triumph of resolve over adversity in response to the recent atrocities but in football terms there was very little to garner from a win for Roy Hodgson’s side over the naturally subdued visitors.

One facet of the midweek friendly that may have big repercussions for United fans was the sight of Anthony Martial leaving Wembley stadium on crutches.

Before we all start crying hysterically, it’s worth noting that France manager Didier Deschamps declared Martial’s injury was simply a knock.

United’s press conference takes place this morning and it’s a certainty that the first question put to the manager will be the fitness of his 19 year-old starlet.

Early indications are that Martial should be fit for the trip to Watford tomorrow, where the Reds will look to put pressure on leaders Manchester City. It may be harsh to take but even for a game against lowly opposition, Martial may be vital.

Surely UTD. can field a team ( with due respect to WATFORD ) minus MARTIAL and still get the 3pts. This lads presence will be more reqd. against teams that should be harder nuts to crack ie.PSV EINDHOVEN & LEICESTER and so i reckon we should be careful in not turning a minor complaint ( if that is what it is ) into a potential major one. Be safe not sorry !!!
