Nemanja points the way to Schalke

With the news that United will now face Chelsea in the Champions league quarter finals Sir Alex Ferguson’s recent comments regarding Nemanja Vidic will be music to many Red’s ears.

Speaking at Thursday’s press conference Sir Alex said:

“He[Vidic]’s shown good recovery this week but not enough for Saturday, he should be okay for two weeks ahead that’s the benefit we’re getting with the international break.”

“It’s all just fallen apart in the last week or so with the defensive injuries.”

With Rio Ferdinand potentially out for the rest of the season and injuries to John O’Shea and Rafael, not to mention Jonny Evans’ recent injury problems it’s imperative to United’s season, that Vidic returns sooner rather than later.

The United skipper will no doubt have a point to prove against Chelsea after receiving a red card for two bookable offences in the recent 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge.

United have three games against Chelsea in April and early May which could effectively make or break our season.

With Fernando Torres, Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba, at their disposal Chelsea have a powerful strike force, which may not have been firing on all cylinders of late, but is still one of the most impressive in Europe.

With Vidic in the side though, you’d fancy United to be able to give any forward line a tough time.

One response to “Sir Alex Ferguson: “Vidic Should Make Champions League””

  1. I think I've found you a Genius says:

Get Vidic fit and were in with a shout on all fronts espcially with the developing partnership of Rooney & Hernandez up front but lets not under estimate the importance of a fit Ji Sung for this nail biting run in. Freakin agonising this part of the season but wouldn’t have it any other way.

Come on Boys lets tear those Rent Boys apart!
