Alexis Sanchez

"Can you hear the...."

It seems Roberto Mancini may have finally seen a bit of sense and realised the best way to improve his team is by buying players that United want.

After Mario Balotelli’s frankly laughable appearance at Anfield last night not to mention the way Dzeko has taken the Premier League by storm with a Fernando Torres-esque scoring run, who can blame the City boss for looking elsewhere.

Acccording to a report in The Telegraph:

“Manchester City are set to offer more than €40 million (£35 million) for Udinese striker Alexis Sanchez, who is being courted by a number of Europe’s leading clubs.

“The final fee could be as high as €50 million (£44 million), which would make Sanchez the second most expensive player to be bought by a Premier League club.

“It is understood that City officials met representatives of the 22-year-old Chilean over the weekend to discuss a deal. The talks are believed to have been positive.

“Sanchez, who played for Chile in the World Cup last year and has long been identified as a rising star of world football, has informally agreed to join City with Udinese resigned to his departure, it is believed.”

It was reported that United sent a scout to the recent Udinese versus Roma match to take a look at the youngster, although that turned out to be a waste of time as he didn’t play due to injury.

Whether United really are going to bid for him remains to be seen although the chances of us outbidding City for a player that in all honesty would only be occupying a place on the bench next season, is doubtful to say the least.
