Wesley Sneijder

Good, but not THAT good.

The latest rumour surrounding United’s Summer transfer activity is that Sir Alex Ferguson is preparing to swap Nani for Wesley Sneijeder.

The Internazionale midfielder as long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and now it’s being suggested that Fergie has found the carrot big enough to get him.

According to the Metro:

“Italian sources claim the Serie A giants have identified the Portuguese winger as the man they want to reshape their attack, and are willing to offer their Dutch playmaker in exchange.

“Sir Alex Ferguson has been a long-term admirer of Sneijder, and although he would be reluctant to part with one of his outstanding players of the season, the temptation to finally land the midfield schemer may be too much to resist – especially with Paul Scholes in the twilight of his career.”

Nani currently has nine goals and 14 assists in the Premier League alone and is a strong contender for United’s player of the season. After a great start to his Old Trafford career Nani had a quiet 18 months before proving his worth with a series of stunning displays. Why Sir Alex Ferguson would want to sacrifice one of his most dangerous players is a mystery and surely yet another example of shoddy journalism with no real ‘sources’ other than theories and conjecture.

Sneijder’s a great player don’t get me wrong, but I find the idea that United would be willing to let Nani go under any circumstances, quite simply laughable.

If United were to use Nani as a makeweight to sign
Wesley Sneijder, all it will tell me is United are bust as far as having cash to invest and improve the squad. It improves zilch bye letting one of your best players leave, when its apparent he does not want to leave United.
There was a great article on here,I believe why Sneijder would not fit in at United.
On to more important things……The Match.
