Nemanja Vidic

This way to the title boys!

Nemanja Vidic has told of his desire to remain at Manchester United for the remainder of his career.

He is quoted as saying:  “I’m definitely here for the rest of my career now. It never came from my mouth that I would be leaving United. I love it here and I think I show that on the pitch.”

The Serbian international was signed in 2006 for a reported £7 million, and since then has gone on to establish himself as one of the world’s leading centre backs, picking up 3 Premier League, 3 League Cup, a Champion’s league and Club World Cup medal along the way.

An ever present in the United team since his arrival, his impressive standing has led to him being appointed club captain this season, something which he has taken on with aplomb, leading the side with confidence and providing the consistent performances fans have come to expect of him. It is a role he has truly relished this season “Being captain of United is a big honour and I am really enjoying the role.”

With speculation that had often surrounded his future in recent seasons, his words will be welcome by all those associated with the club, and fans can look forward more years of loyal service from him.
