Paul Scholes and Samir Nasri

"Don't be silly son, you concentrate on saving your season"

The darling of both Manchester United and City, Samir Nasri will be staying at Arsenal according to reports.

The Mirror notes: “Arsene Wenger will play hardball with Samir Nasri and tell the unsettled midfielder he is going nowhere.

“France midfielder Nasri has become a target for both Manchester United, Manchester City and Inter Milan after stalling on a new £90,000-a-week contract offer.

“The 24-year-old, who has one year left on his current deal, has made it clear he wants Arsenal to prove their ambition before he commits himself to the club, so could be ready to be the next big name to quit.

“City have already made an enquiry, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keen and agents are trying to broker a deal.

“It has all left Arsenal with a major dilemma – whether to sell this summer or risk losing him for nothing next year.

“But the club have now told Nasri’s representatives that he is NOT for sale.”

Whether Nasri really is going to remain at Arsenal is anyone’s guess, but with Cesc Fabregas seemingly destined for Barcelona and Gael Clichy already having joined City, it may well be that Wenger has finally realised he cannot keep allowing his best players to leave if he’s any chance of catching United.

The Sun reports that Nasri has joined them for 150 grand weekly contract. If Wenger is waiting for UEFA to level the playing field,it will be the gunners can only fight for the Europa trophy.

  3. chris says:

Why on earth would Arsenal sell him to their closest rivals for such a small amount of money, so early in the summer? Surely they would make more of an attempt to get him to stay, or at least offer him around to start a bidding war?

    It simply doesn’t make sense.

its a shame players talk so much crap, Nasri states he wants glory not cash and now theres talk his gone for the money.

tbh i dont understand why wenger is selling to a team in this league at that price surely other big clubs would be interested too.

Gervino probably and jenkinson are the ones signed. Don’t be surprised Wenger says he has faith in his present squad and needs no addition. Well if he had acted in getting a decent defender in Jan,perhaps the gunners could have won the cc.
The latest by Scholes on Arsenal shows how far Wenger’s stock has fallen. If the gunners are unable to keep up with the top teams, then he should be fired for not taking the necessary action. Btw,no more time should be given to him.
Either he gets a trophy or out.
