Manchester City Vancouver

Vancouver prepares for the arrival of literally hundreds of City fans

The ‘noisy neighbours’ just keep getting louder as Manchester City’s tour of North America has shown the club’s massive global appeal is now outshining that of United’s.

The FA Cup winner’s historic match against Club America’s was watched in front of a staggering 11,000 fans in San Francisco a few days ago.

City triumphed with goals from Edin Dzeko and Shaun Wright Phillips.

One onlooker said:”I’d never heard of Manchester City and at first was a tad disappointed it wasn’t United playing, however seeing Gary Coleman get on the scoresheet was a real bonus.”

While City were enthralling 11,000 spectators, United had to make do with a crowd of just over 50,000 in their game against New England Revolution.

A City insider said: “The fact that United could only manage 40,000 more fans for their US tour opener than we did just highlights how the tide is turning, City are not just a massive club, were now a really massive one.”

In another clever twist City have struck a deal with computer game manufacturers EA Sports which will see the club take a leading role in the game FIFA 12.

The Manchester Evening Blues took time off from writing ‘help-keep-Carlos-Tevez-in-a-city-he’s-shown nothing-but-contempt-for’ petitions to report: “The deal comes as it was revealed that City are now the eighth most played team in the world on Fifa 11, which it is claimed has been the fastest-selling sports game ever.”

A club insider gushed: “Being the eighth most played team on a computer game is yet another momentus chapter in the club’s history, ranking up their with the time we had the highest floodlights in England and Curly Watts’s support. It will also give us a realistic chance of Champions League glory.”

There was more good news for City fans with the confirmation that todays game against Vancouver will go ahead, despite reports it had been cancelled due to lack of interest.

A Vancouver spokesman said: “Carlos Tevez is overrated and Sergio Aguero will be a much better player for the Manchester City blue team, who are a massive club.”

Whenever I am depressed or bore I think of City and laugh my ass out at their comedy.
This article shows Why they are comical.
There is only one team in Manchester and that Wears Red MANCHESTER UNITED

Good spot, and trying to compete for an audience in pre season has just shown them up even more, but I guess there aren’t many places in the world where they would get more than 11000 into a stadium. Unless they played a big club that is. United sometimes play lower division clubs in pre season, maybe some decent club could take pity on them and allow them to play in front of a full stadium for a change. Shame is about 600 of those 11000 supporters were gettin ready for United, LMFAO

Heard from a pal who went to the game. He was gutted ‘cos the rumor was Oasis were going to play a half-time gig. If you counted the attendance after 2nd half kick off you’d find it was down by 20%

But it’s undeniable the club is building it’s brand. The idea of putting the players price tag on the program is a really clever ploy. Once you see how much their players cost you’ve got to understand their position as a really big club

I think you might have a future in comedy. That was really funny!

Remind me, who are the alleged bitter and obsessed ones again?
A Nited insider is quoted as saying “I know Bacon face, sorry SAF has confirmed he’s now scared of ickle Citeh, but he’s old, infirm, his hands shake and what does he know anyway? We’ve signed Ashley Cole, a kid from Spain and Tom Jones, despite Stoke protesting about potential Delilah image rights issues. Sod the debt, the players retiring, leaving, or generally being duff, we’re the best team in the World since 1992, so there.”

city had fans on their game because their opponent AMERICA has a lot of fans in USA. Many mexicans living in US won´t miss an oportunity to see their favorite team. By the way, AMERICA is the main rival of CHIVAS DEL GUADALAJARA. and chicharito came from CHIVAS

Remember the ‘Rags’ victory parade when you won the Championship!
It’s wasn’t all that surprising that so few turned up when it was in the Evening and all your ‘locals’ couldn’t drive up from the South or fly over from Ireland!
I was in Spain and the locals were all having a giggle at the turnout – the Worlds biggest club! now that really is a laugh. We then watched Barca’s return and that really was something (2 Million on the streets of their City as compared to 50,000 on the streets of Trafford) Boston also happens to be Irelands 2nd city so that is where all the fans came from to watch the ‘Rags’
With your post I smell ‘fear’! with ‘fear’ I smell ‘Victory’.

    • José says:

Don’t really think you could be classed as a Connoisseur of the taste or smell of victory. 1 cup in 36 years, lets not get carried away Fred.

The City game was at a neutral ground against a Mexican team in a San Francisco that has a 6.3% Mexican population of about 46k mostly lower paid workers in a by all accounts over priced game Utd’s had 18k unsold tickets at the home clubs ground who’ fans were not 900 miles away!Let’s see how many City have in Vancouver. Nob ed

  10. Jay canada says:

I was at the Vancouver game and I can see more fans with Man Utd shirts than the blue one. And shitty was lucky to won the match at the won, was so happy to see Vancouver Whitecaps matching shitty all the way

    • jonathan says:

Yeah, I live in Vancouver too. What a laugh as they still had tickets available at a temporary stadium of 20k, and where most of those tickets were given free in the first place to season ticket holders. I saw the highlights and there were literally only a few dozen city fans; which is probably all of them for the entire area.
