Manchester United v Arsenal – Match Preview: View From The Emirates

You have a couple of injuries and suspensions for this one.  Have you enough strength in depth to come to Old Trafford and get a something from the game?

Injury news so far is that Laurent Koscielny is back, which is great. Vermaelen faces a fitness test tomorrow as to whether he’ll be up for it, so we can only keep our fingers crossed for that. Jack Wilshere is still injured and both Alex Song and Gervinho are still banned. So on paper, probably not. I’m sure the boys on the pitch will give more than we’ve seen in recent times and to come away with a result against the current champions would be incredible – my head says that we probably won’t, but my heart says that of course we will!

Who will be the danger men for Arsenal that United will have to keep an eye on in Sunday’s match?

Your guess is as good as mine. Our creative players are either out injured or are now at other clubs! Obviously RvP can always be a pain for teams and Theo Walcott also, on his day, but otherwise I really couldn’t tell you. Who knows, maybe Aaron Ramsey will bang another one in? Actually, Tomas Rosicky came on and was a real game changer on Wednesday so if he starts then that’ll be a bonus. Amazingly, he isn’t injured either as we speak.

What are your predictions for the game?

A win would be fantastic, even a draw would be great given the shape we’re in at the moment. Last time I was on this site I said we’d win and we lost, so I’m going to go for a draw. I’m usually Mrs Positivity but I don’t want to be stupid and tempt fate here. At the end of the day though (argh, football cliché), it’s one match in 38. We looked great up until about January/February of last season when we almost went into freefall. I’m really not that bothered about our form at the moment, because I know it’s going to pick up. A draw against United away with a quite weakened team wouldn’t be bad going. I just think you might be a little bit too strong for us this time around. Be a different case by the time your lot comes to our gaff though, obviously!

Sian writes her own fantastic blog called From a Girl Who Loves the Gunners, and you can have a read of it here.

Can United make it 9 points from 9?  Will Rooney continue his goalscoring spree?  Will the youngsters continue to make it a problem for Fergie to change the side?

Wherever you’re watching it, enjoy the game.
