David De Gea has not had the easiest start to life at Old Trafford, although anybody with any patience will realise that at such a young age, time will be needed and with some guidance United could find themselves with a true long term first choice on their hands, in a position that has been notoriously difficult to fill. However, regardless of mistakes, it was hard to find fault with De Gea for what happened during an Under 21 game for Spain, where events seemed to be simply a matter of extreme misfortune rather than any particular mistake when, while leading 6-0, De Gea found himself lobbed by an outrageous back heel that was hit a little too well, by one of his own defenders. Luckily, the goal had no bearing on the result as Spain ran out 6-2 winners, but he will no doubt bemoan the bad luck that fell upon him that particular evening.
