Stevie G back in time for the Europa League place push

The biggest result of the week was Manchester United’s 3-1 win against Chelsea. It was an action packed match that saw a missed penalty, contender for miss of the century, a disgraceful challenge and a lot of bitterness.

Despite being being man of the match, Oliver Holt claims Nani went over too easily after his goal.

The rest of the games saw Arsenal lose…….. again, Manchester City drop two points, Liverpool losing players and points, Stoke take a beating and Joey Barton being Joey Barton.

This week saw the start of The Carling Cup for all the big teams. Manchester United started with a pretty routine 3-0 victory over Leeds United. Even with a winger, central midfielder and two left backs in our back four, we still had plenty of quality to see Leeds off.

Arsenal had a scare at the Emirates. They trailed 1-0 against Shrewsbury Town for a portion of the first half. At a point in the game, it looked as if the dreaded vote of confidence could strike again.

Something happened this week. Something rarer than a Piers Morgan press up. Owen Hargreaves actually played some football. He scored in Manchester City’s 2-0 against Carling Cup holders Birmingham. Expect to see him again sometime in 2015.

Roberto Mancini claimed this week that he does not have enough players at Manchester City. It is believed he only needs an Alex Song to complete his defensive mid-fielders page in his Panini album.

Steven Gerrard returned to action this week after six months out. The people of Liverpool were in shock. Apparently, being off work sick for six months per year is way below average in the city of Liverpool.

And Finally. Manchester City have announced plans to move all their fans who want to make some noise, into one section of the stadium. These fans will now sit in seats 35-37, Row H of the South Stand.
