United battered Wolves at Molineux with an hour-long masterclass in attacking football – helped no end by the sending off of Wolves defender Ronald Zubar who’s two yellow cards all but ended the game as a contest.

Unlikely hero Jonny Evans settled any United nerves converting a Wayne Rooney corner, before Antonio Valencia doubled the lead. A goal from Danny Welbeck ended any feint hopes the home side may have had of getting anything from the game, before a Chicharito brace turned it into a rout.

United then eased off a little as Evans, Patrice Evra and Michael Carrick, made way for Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling and Fabio. It was a day to remember as United now go four points clear of City having played a game more with the goal difference now cut to four goals in our rivals favour.
