Lindegaard – The boss kept faith in him and he didn’t let Fergie down. Made one especially good save in the second half, but his spill early on was poor. 6
Rafael – Pushed up in the second half and managed to score a wonder goal. Love this kid. 7
Rio – Showed that he’s still as good as anyone out there. Read crosses well and intercepted, as well as making two good clearances from rebounds. 8
Evans – Kept his cool and filled in for Vidic. Wasn’t afraid to get stuck in with his challenges and his bravery led to Shelvey getting sent off. 8
Evra – Did well supporting the attackers after Nani was taken off. Still shaky in the defensive area though. 6
Valencia – Very quiet for large parts of the match but he had a chance to make a difference and took it. His speed, strength and hard work lead to our winner. 7
Carrick – Invisible in the first half but started to influence events in the second half. Looked to push forward more than he usually does. 6
Giggs – Practically a bystander. Fergie needs to figure out when to use him more wisely as he just wasn’t able to keep up with the pace of the game. 5
Nani – I’m always defending Nani because I think he offers something very few players in our team posses, but today I was embarrassed for him. 3
Kagawa – Seemed slower than usual with his passing and his movement was lethargic which left the attackers isolated. 5
Van Persie – Received next to no service from the midfield which ended up with him getting very few touches. Scored the winner when the pressure was on with a good penalty. 6
Subs:
Scholes – Such a worrying seeing him come on ‘yet’ again and save the day. How many more times will I have to say that this season? 6
Hernandez – Didn’t have much time to make a difference.
Welbeck – His new haircut makes him look like that kid from Hey Arnold. He also didn’t have much time to effect the game.
Evans was lucky to not have given away a penalty
“Hey, watch the hair.”
