De Gea – Made some fantastic saves to keep us in the lead. He’ll be devastated to not have a clean sheet to show for it. 7

Rafael – Bombed forward at every given opportunity and played a massive role in our opener. 7

Ferdinand – Held the defensive line very well for the first 70 minutes but allowed complacency to creep in as we approached full-time. 7

Evans – I lost track of the number of times I shouted ‘What a pass’ whilst watching him today. 6

Evra – I could write an essay about just how good he was today. Kept it simple and did all the basic things to perfection. 9

Valencia- He’s at his best when he doesn’t have time to think about what he’s doing, for example his flick on for our first goal. All too often he delays and stops the counter-attack. Missed a sitter. 6

Carrick – Let the game fly passed him as he failed to get a foot in. Played a sloppy pass late on which nearly cost us dearly. 5

Cleverley – Like his midfield partner, he was unable to set the tempo. Looked lost at times, as proven by the possession stats. 5

Rooney – Had a brilliant first half until he missed his penalty. Then his confidence looked shot and it brought his overall performance down. 6

Young – Always involved with our attacks. I believe he’s been crucial element in Evra’s sudden improvement. 7

Van Persie  – Scored a beauty but should have had another. His movement off the ball is a sight to behold. Peels off the defender majestically. 8

Subs:

Anderson – Added some much needed energy to the midfield. A fit Anderson is a very good player. 7

Nani – Didn’t have enough time to have an influence on the game.

Rooney 6? Rafael 7? Rafael was caught out of possession so many times. I tot Rooney was our Man of the Match. Rafael 6 Rooney 8.5

I COMPLETELY disagree with ur assessment of Rooney he was at least an 8, he was bossing things in the midfield. Same with Evans, he was on par with Rio. I think u got a bit carried away with Evra’s goal, hes a 7 max…..

I guess you were at some other match….Rooney a 6!!!…and I definitely don’t think his performance levels dropped after the penalty miss…
And young played better than Carrick, valencia and Rooney….!!!!.dude you shouldn’t be writing this posts or at least get it verified by some other fans who understand the game or not doze off in the game like you 🙂

I think our midfielders were accorded more space than they knew what to do with hence their sloppiness.
