United travel to Upton Park for the third round of the FA Cup this afternoon, in a game that should be annything but a walkover.
Sir Alex has picked a strong side to face his old mucker Sam Allaardyce’s West Ham team that have impressed in the Premiership this season.
With Kagawa returning from injury after having only played less than one full game and Vidic getting a start it will be a good chance for players needing vital match practice, let’s just hope it’s not a step too soon.
Man Utd: De Gea, Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Smalling, Buttner, Scholes, Cleverley, Kagawa, Welbeck, Hernandez
Half time thoughts. We have played the nice football. They have played the direct football. they have looked Increasingly dangerous and our chosen midfield is not designed to do the job of cutting the supply of crosses. We now have two problems Scholes has picked up his customary yellow and can’t afford to put his foot in. Kagawa is short of minutes and is likely to tire. No obvious like for like options on the bench. Hard to see how we tighten things up. Lets hope we get the next goal.
