Going away to Wigan has always been a bit of a treat for Manchester United seeing the side rack up bundles goals along the way; yet all of the good times are a distant memory as the last time the Red Devils visited the DW Stadium it ended in a 1-0 defeat and proved to be the beginning of the end in the quest for a 20th league title.
Wigan are one of those clubs who are capable of beating any side on their day -but their day only comes around every one in ten matches, so nobody really knows what to expect from Roberto Martinez’s men.
With the strike from Shaun Maloney still fresh in all of our minds, I am confident Sir Alex will not let history repeat itself and fully demand the best for his players.
A game which once meant little now has a different meaning to it. Today is not only a chance to maintain a seven point lead over local boys Man City, but also a chance to inflict revenge.
