Could the Foxes striker gatecrash the United squad?

Anyone watching the recent under 21s game between United and Liverpool couldn’t have failed to be impressed by a young striker who seemed to cause the Merseysiders no end of problems.

Jeffrey Schlupp’s trial with United may seem like something of a shock given the fact the 20 year-old is on the books at Leicester – with all due respect to the Foxes you don’t exactly expect us to be trialling their players.

Schlupp isn’t your average 20 year-old striker having already earned a full international cap for Ghana after having a spell for the German under 21 side.

According to the Mirror we may not have seen the last of the young striker at Old Trafford:

Manchester United are giving Ghanaian striker Jeffrey Schlupp the chance to make a dream move from Leicester City.

Schlupp made a surprise appearance for Sir Alex Ferguson’s reserves and the powerful young forward could be offered a deal at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old has made a handful of appearances for the Foxes and was also loaned to Brentford, but he has done enough on trial with United to earn his shock call-up.

Schlupp would cost United a fee and Foxes chief Nigel Pearson is happy for him to spend his time with the Premier League leaders ahead of a potential move.

Schlupp may be given the chance to impress again at United or the Reds could just keep tabs on him but if last night’s performance for the under 21s was to go by then there may just be room for another talented youngster at Old Trafford.

I was very impresserd by the boy Schlupp. His awareness and running into spaces was good. The only downside was that he was all left footed and he needs to do a Gearge Best and practise kicking with his swinger. I was also glad to see his heading ability. His cushioned header to Lindegard
was perfect which resulted in the winning goal.
