De Gea – Dealt with everything well and looked very confident in the air too. 7

Rafael – Taken off early with what i would assume to be a niggle. 5

Smalling – Defended well but failed to carry the ball forward and help out the midfield. 7

Vidic – A big performance from the Serb. Made several good tackles and held the defence together well. 8

Büttner – Looked to attack the Sunderland fullback but was caught out at the back as a consequence. 7

Valencia – Started off brightly but looked more and more tired as the game drew on. Understandable given his travelling. 5

Anderson – Showed glimpses of quality which only came few and far between. Sadly identical to his United career in general. 6

Carrick – Bossed the midfield and made numerous key interceptions to help out the defence. Kept the ball moving down the middle. 7

Young – Couldn’t cross to save his life. His best contribution was in defence, and even that was bad. 4

Kagawa – Pulled the strings from behind the striker and played a few clever passes. Faded away as the match drew on. 6

Van Persie – Grabbed the assist for our goal and unlucky not to grab a second after Ashley Young took a decade to pass the ball. 6

Subs:

Evans – Came in and filled in for Rafael. Did his job well. 6

Cleverley – Kept the ball moving in the middle. 6

Welbeck – Created space for his teammates with clever passing and movement. 6

Pretty average across the board, but once more, job done.
