Is Wazza off in the Summer?

Wayne Rooney’s rumoured move to Paris Saint-Germain is still very much on the horizon this Summer according to some English national newspapers, the problem is others claim he’s about to sign a new deal at United.

The one/off saga of Rooney’s future has been reported for months now and every time the former Everton striker – and occasional midfielder- is rested for a game the press go into a frenzy claiming he’s certain to leave.

Some newspapers don’t see it that way, even going as far to claim that Rooney’s recent Man of the Match performance in midfield against City, means Sir Alex is planning on making him a vital fixture in that position next season and beyond.

Its difficult to know which rumour/story to believe but just to gage how contradictory the reports are you only have to look at tomorrow’s newspapers.

The Sun claims

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are convinced they will land Wayne in a £25million summer swoop.

Well-respected former sports advisor to the club Michel Moulin appeared on French TV to claim: to PSG is done.”
Moulin, 52, also boss of French publication 10 Sport, added: “I announce from trusted sources, he will be at PSG next season.”

The Telegraph disagrees noting:

Wayne is determined to resist opportunities to leave Manchester this summer and begin negotiations over a long-term contract to keep him at Old Trafford until his early thirties.

Claims in on Sunday evening by Michel Moulin, PSG’s sporting adviser for a month in 2008, that Rooney leaving for the French club was a ‘done deal’ were dismissed out of hand by sources close to the player.

The reality is only Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex truly know whether ‘Wazza’ is off this Summer, personally I think he’ll stay, Not only do I seriously doubt Ferguson wants to sell a player who’s been a major part of the team for almost ten years now and the manager still obviously rates highly, but also I seriously doubt Rooney wishes to move to France.

Have I got it completely wrong – again- and is Rooney off the PSG in the Summer – or do you agree with the Telegraph that he’ll stay? Answers below in a semi orderly fashion please:
