In case you hadn’t noticed there’s a game taking place between Manchester’s two clubs tonight, with the Champions [elect] playing the [reigning] Champions at Old Trafford in a game that unfortunately -for City won’t have any bearing on the title. Come on, it won’t.

The question is will Sir Alex Ferguson go for broke and really attack Roberto Mancini’s side or are we in for a tentative affair which sees both sides trying to combat the others attackers rather than really going for it?

With the memory of that awful 6-1 not to mention the almost equally awful- for different reasons- 1-0 at the Etihad last season- there’s little doubt this a game United will really want to put in a performance in.

I expect Sir Alex to be more concerned with the midfield battle than anything else so with that in mind here’s my line up:

DDG, Rafael, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Michael Carrick, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney, RVP.

i think tom cleverly or kagawa should start ahead of phil jones because they have a lot creative midfielders and as such united need a player of those two above to also move around with the ball in the center of the field and also bring some kind of flair play in the united team

No Nani nor Young. Valencia gets the nod over both.

Jones is the poorest midfielder we’ve got. great at man marking but his overall creative play and ball distribution is lacking for a midfielder. if fergie can’t play him at CB then he should rest him. period. my team :De gea ….Rafael …vidic …Evans…evra…carrick..Anderson …kagawa…Rooney..nani…van Persie.
