Lindegaard – If this game was to matter in any way and he’d have performed like he did today, Sir Alex would have murdered him. 2

Valencia – Bit strange that his best performance of the season came at right-back. Attacked their fullback all game and whipped in some dangerous crosses. 8 (MOTM)

Jones – All over the place at the back and was caught napping more than once. Not his best performance. 3

Evans – Equally as bad as his defensive partner. Bullied all game by Lukaku. Expected better from the more experienced defender of the two. 3

Büttner – Scored a cracker but awful at the back. Doesn’t have the technique to dribble and it cost us a goal which set West Brom on their way. 5

Anderson – Huffed and puffed his way to 90 minutes which came as a surprise. Started off brightly but faded late on as he neared a cardiac-arrest. 5

Cleverley – Brought energy and speed to our game. Great to see him back in the side and playing well. 6

Carrick – It looks like we’re no longer able to play a game without him, even if they’re pointless. You’d have to worry about how many we’d have conceded if he wasn’t playing today. 5

Kagawa – Scored and pulled the stringers from behind. Expect to see him far more often in the attacking-midfielder role next season. 7

Hernandez- His link-up play has improved tremendously lately and it’s really starting to show in his game. Getting both assists and goals. Brilliant. 8

Van Persie – Grabbed a goal to bring his season total to 30 goals. Remember when he only signed for the money? Enjoy the Golden Boot. 6

Subs:

Giggs – Came on and set up a goal with practically his first touch. Vintage Giggs. 7

Scholes – Came on, got yellow-carded, came off. I love you, Scholesy. Farewell, you legend. 18

Ferdinand – Came on to tighten the defence in the final few minutes. Didn’t exactly work out as planned. 5

Valencia 8??? No way. I’d give him 6 and give Hernandez MOTM.
