Could we really see the return of the artist known as CR7?

Could we really see the return of the artist known as CR7?

It’s difficult not to get excited over the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to United, given the amount of reports emerging of late that a deal could actually be on the horizon.

Part of the problem for many Reds is that it’s almost too good to be true that in a Summer where we’re all lamenting the loss of our most successful manager, the blow could be softened somewhat by the return of one of our greatest players.

The latest reports indicate that United could be closer to regaining good old CR7 than we think.

The Sun notes:

Manchester United have stepped up their efforts to make Cristiano Ronaldo the signing of the summer.

The Red Devils are convinced they can take advantage of uncertainty at Real Madrid to bring him back home to Old Trafford.
And they are prepared to offer £65million plus a player to land the superstar, 28, who is still a hero with the United faithful.

Ronaldo is also understood to be keen on the move.

He has turned down offers from Real Madrid to sign a new deal with only two years left on his current contract.
Real will not give up trying to keep him.

But they have already made contingency plans to bring in Gareth Bale from Tottenham in a switch worth £80m.
They also know that they cannot afford to let Ronaldo’s contract run down and now would be the last chance to get big money back on him.

It’s difficult to know just how adamant Real Madrid at keeping Ronaldo and just how keen the winger is to come back to United but it’s hard to ignore the growing amount of reports that it may just be more than wishful thinking on the part of Reds.

It almost feels like Robin Van Persie all over again….

  3. LT3313 says:

It’s possible, but mostly that he wants to leave RM after falling out with a lot of the Spaniards – see Casillas voting for Ramos for Balon d’Or for example.

That said, I find it hard to believe SAF would retire if he thought CR would return.

It will be a good stand for man united if CR7 returns to old traford, and we the fans will be very much have to receive him back.
Moyes do not relent, try hard to sign him. Good luck
