With all the talk of Cesc Fabregas, Luka Modric, Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini the agent of Brazilian defender Marquinhos making comments about the Reds being interested in his client has almost gone unnoticed.

The centre back who enjoyed an impressive season with Roma was reportedly moving to Paris Saint Germain, but his agent has alleged interest from other club’s including United has thrown a spanner in the works.

The Metro notes:

The highly-rated Brazilian, 19, was expected to complete a £25million move to Paris Saint Germain this week, but that deal seems to have stalled due to interest from other European heavyweights.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, agent Roberto Calenda, said: ‘There are offers from PSG, Manchester United and Barcelona – and Roma could accept one of them.’

All this sounds like an agent trying to get his client a better deal, after all spending £25 million on a Brazilian teenager seems a bit too close to the last time we spent a similar sum on one and we all know how that turned out…..
