“Spanish under 21 star joins Premier League side from Barcelona” – we’ve finally completed the signing of Thiago Alcantara I hear you cry. Well unfortunately no we haven’t, Stoke City have in fact signed Thiago’s former team mate the defender Marc Muniesa. Thiago was quick to wish Muniesa good luck via twitter, the only remaining question is will he be joining him in the Premier League. Thiago tweeted Muniesa: “I wish you all the luck in the world to a great player in his new team. Debut Enjoy it!” The latest reports indicate Thiago and his dad who’s handling the transfer are waiting for confirmation that a clause they’ve demanded whereby the youngster can leave United for £20 million should he not make a certain number of games, is inserted into his contract. Until we hear anything definite United fans are going to have to make do with waiting and analysing tweets to give us any form of clue.
