The latest twist in the never-ending ‘Thiago Alcantara Transfer Saga Part III’ comes from the somewhat unexpected route of a Spanish, right wing private, catholic funded radio station.

‘COPE’ : Cadena de Ondas Populares Españolas [“People’s Radiowaves of Spain Network] have claimed that Thiago has decided to team up with his former boss Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.

Reporting COPE’s claims, Spanish paper Marca notes:

The future of Thiago Alcantara remains a major issue in Barcelona. As reported by ‘The Twelve O’ Clock Match‘ [Cope’s sports show] the squad has decided to accept the offer from Bayern to play for Guardiola.

After a conversation between the coach and the player, according to that station, Thiago has been convinced to leave for the Bundesliga and the European champions.

Thiago will cost  € 4 million per season. The player was concerned about the amount of midfielders are at Bayern but Guardiola let him know that they are open to more options to than just Javi Martinez at centre position.

The baffling thing about Thiago even considering a move to Bayern Munich is that he’d arguably have even less chance of breaking into their side, than he would Barcelona’s.

With the likes of Toni Kroos, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Mario Götze  – not to mention the more defensive Martinez- all at the club, Bayern are hardly in desperate need of a midfielder. Add the fact that Thomas Müller can also operate as an attacking midfielder and it does seem an odd choice for a young man to make who was ostensibly only leaving the Nou Camp for more football.

How reliable COPE are is anyone’s guess, although any news of the youngster heading somewhere other than Old Trafford is always going to make Reds sit up and take notice. Watch this space as this may not be the final twist in the tale… [sigh]

I hate it when people say ‘Manu’ and then claim to be supporters. Eitherways, it is going to be a long, long summer. Hope Moyes and Woodward have their backup plan. With the man from Govan moving upstairs, we are same as other clubs.

The truth is if Thiago signs for Bayern it would b a non football related move Bayerns midfield technically is harder to get into that Barca midfield (from his perspective) so it only makes footballing sense and for his World Cup selection aspirations to join man utd for he will most likely start every game…. Besides all of Bayerns midfielders all wanna fight for World Cup places
