With news that Thiago Alcantara is heading to Bayern Munich, United boss David Moyes has insisted that the club’s targets are still within reach.
Speaking at United’s tour in Bangkok Moyes was confident the Red’s could get the players they want:
“We’re on with targets that we are chasing,”
“There are people we are actively chasing and, at this moment in time, we’re happy with how things are going.”
Asked whether Thiago was a target Moyes replied: “I never said at any time that he was.”
It seems highly unlikely that after so many reports United were chasing Thiago, it transpires we didn’t even make any inquiries. As for other targets, the most obvious one would seem to be Leighton Baines with United reportedly willing to up their initial £12 million bid.
Missing Thaigo is not the problem, who next look at Feillani and Bainse.

After reading comment after comment about our supposed transfer targets, all I can say is thank God you fans are not running the club. Thiago wants out of Barca which makes him a right dickhead, imagine what trouble he would be after he plays in the world cup next year . Also he could be another Kleberson, knocked over everytime he gets the ball. I’d much prefer some steel in midfield like Strootman , we already have Kagawa who will be better this season. Baines will come , who to me looks like a Man U player. I’m so glad we’re run like we are and not like City and Chelsea . Mixed feelings on Rooney though , maybe he should go, only time will tell

moyes should better sign important players for us instead of keeping us waiting and seeing other clubs buy quality players. He should infact make haste because we dont have time any longer.

Moyes as manager is massive part that will make top players think twice about move. A massive, stable club with SAF in charge is now a massive club with a new manager with no winning reputation or even reputation for attractive football. Along with change of back room staff. It’s a big make or break season ..
