I wonder which Rooney’s coming back….

United’s pre-season tour has been a fairly average affair as pre-season tours go, despite the exciting youngsters we’ve all got carried away watching. There’s been some decent goals, some impressive displays, some mediocre ones and some dire defending from men who should know better but on the whole it’s probably been a bit of a C plus so far, not great but hardly disastrous and arguably doing what its meant to, getting some younger lads used to playing for Manchester United Football Club.

Unfortunately rather than focus on the players actually wearing the lovely new kit at the minute, we’ve been forced , or rather David Moyes has been forced to address the ongoing problem of a less than enthusiastic striker and his ego. Wayne Rooney has made at least part of the pre- Thiago and Cesc Summer all about him and now and given Jose Mourinho another chance to show all the Reds what a prat he can be after the sickening love-in of the past few years.

Will Rooney go to Chelsea, after Mourinho, Petr Cech, Romelu Lukaku and Sam Bethell have all proclaimed how much they want him there? No. I don’t think he will because David Moyes simply cannot be that stupid or he wouldn’t have got the job Jose wishes he has. So if Rooney does stay what next?

That’s the problem which worries me, a fit Wayne Rooney is an asset, an unhappy Wayne Rooney with the attitude of a recently incarcerated innocent man, is about as likely to start the campaign fully fit as Anderson Chris Smalling and Ashley Young are to end it injury free. Last season Rooney began the season looking like pub team player and that was when he was supposedly happy and dedicated, not upset and angry.

Should Rooney spit his dummy out and replace it with fags and beer, no matter how much United dig their heels in over his transfer, there’s not a hell of a lot they can do about what he gets up to out of hours. I’m not saying Rooney will deliberately make himself unfit, I just wonder whether he’ll take his foot off the treadmill just enough to mean we’re waiting into October for him to finally turn up.

yes, that might be one way to it & probably the best one / on the other hand the worst one is to let him go within EPL teams …
Such a step in his 1 months as UTD manager? No, I do not think so, I did want MOyes for all what he represents (actually – 2nd choice after Hitzfeld & ahead of H. Cúper on 3rd & … you´ll hate it I know … Wenger on 4th on my list of Godfather´s successor …) … so I just think it is a no-go.
Selling abroad would be abs. different story though … & even though I would love to have back Rooney with his enthusiasm of ´just past 20ys of age´, this will never return … & I better then abs. uninterested Rooney is money payed for him by some silly oil-boys from France (the best joke would be MOnaco …).

Last: José is small man´s son, really, I HAVE NEVER EVER THOUGHT FOR A SECOND I would want here & am proud of it … no class, worth gulags …

  5. Abdul says:

Rooney should forget the past nd continue new life.

  6. Micheal Ayuba Junu says:

Moyes should not try to sell Rooney at any point. Rooney is a player that change game, he is the manual to V. P.

  7. David Van Spall says:

I personally would like to see this resolved and Rooney to stay……he is due a phenomenal season and we do not want that happening at chelsea…
The issue of his fitness was never addressed by Fergie properly in the sense that for the last 2-3 years every June Rooney headed to Vegas and would smoke and drink and come back unfit and unready to start the season…
Moyes needs to say the right things and include Rooney in the plans for this season…who know RVP may get an injury early on….would you really think Wellbeck or even Chicarito would score 25 +???
The real problem lies with Paul Stretford who clearly wants a big final fee for moving rooney to chelsea ….
Now if Fabregas were to come things could change and United may well think get rid of Rooney BUT again he should not be going to chelsea absolutely not…

  8. kodead says:

Rooney shud stay..de fact dat rooney isn’t playin at de level he sould dsnt mean dat we should jst sell him off…rooneys failure is due to fergie’s inability. To sign a midfielder nd his deploying of rooney (a striker) in a midfield role..pls united shouldn’t In a haste forget how rooney carried us along when ronald left…..v.p is performing yes bt he has only 2 to 3 yrs left bfor age stats setting in…so pls moyes kip rooney…he is wah we nid….again,I tink u guys de media should let rooney b.tnx

Rooneys showed his true colours. Last time trying to get a move to city, this time chelsea.would have had more respect for him if he’d come out n said yeah my times up n been straight n honest, unknown words to 2day’s player.instead he hides behind his agent bleating about hurt feelings etc. Most utd fans stuck by him after last time, can’t see that happening this time. Total lack of class on his part.let him have is ‘dream”move n lets bring someone in who wants to play 100% for our club.
