Could Tony V be off in Jan?

Antonio Valencia could be sold in January according to a report in the Express, with suggestions that Roberto’s Martinez and Mancini are leading the chase for the United winger.

The Express notes:

Reports in Turkey suggest that Mancini is contemplating a number of moves in the winter transfer window to strengthen the squad he inherited from Fatih Terim.

And according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik, Mancini is hopeful the Ecuador international can be persuaded to leave Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order under David Moyes.

The paper suggests that the emergence of Adnan Januzaj at United has made Valencia even more dispensable.

It is thought that Galatasaray will offer Untied approximately £12.5m for Valencia and will back it up with a wage packet worth almost £3.5m a year.

The paper also reports that Galatasaray could face competition for Valencia from Everton, who are interested in the 28-year-old as a makeweight in any deal for Leighton Baines.

Valencia seemed back to his rampant best in the game against Bayer Leverkusen but that could’ve been something of a false dawn as he’s done very little of note since. It may sound harsh but after one of the most disappointing seasons from any United player during the last campaign, the idea of David Moyes wondering what all the fuss was about and simply getting rid, isn’t that remote a possibility.

Watch this space…..

Is it time to cut our losses with Valencia? Answers below in a semi-coherent fashion please:
