Arsenal star against Adnan England role

Jack Wilshere has waded into the ‘should Adnan Januzaj play for England’ debate by claiming the United starlet doesn’t have the right to represent Roy Hodgson’s men.

Reports had indicated Roy Hodgson was keen to see Januzaj feature for England in 2016 when he’ll be eligible should he stay in this country. Wilshere though, is not mad on the idea.

Speaking ahead of England’s World Cup qualifier against Montenegro, Wilshere noted:

“No, for me if you are English you are English and you play for England. The only people who should play for England are English people. If you live in England for five years it doesn’t make you English. If I went to Spain and lived there for five years I am not going to play for Spain.”

Wilshere’s words have already caused something of a twitter storm with many accusing the Arsenal midfielder of being xenophobic. Although he’s left himself open to criticism and many won’t agree with Wilshere’s notions on the national side, more than a few Reds may be happy to see Januzaj avoid the England team and all that comes with it.

Well he is right what he’s saying, but we live in a world where you can’t really say anything without people calling to a racist or so and so.
