Could the new signing start tonight? United face Cardiff tonight as David Moyes hopes to end a recent run of three home losses in the last five games in the league.

The signing of Juan Mata has given everyone at the club a lift and while it may seem premature to throw the former Chelsea playmaker straight into the side, United need to field as strong a team as possible and put our recent problems behind us. Mata could prove the key to defeating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Robin Van Persie, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney are reportedly back in training although it remains to be seen if any or all of them will be fit enough to play tonight. Michael Carrick is injured so we can expect to see Darren Fletcher start in front of the back four.

Here’s my predicted starting line up:

David De Gea, Rafael, Jonny Evans, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Phil Jones, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia, Juan Mata, Adnan Januzaj, Danny Welbeck.
