Will Welbeck get the nod tonight?

Have United ever gone into a Manchester Derby at Old Trafford with only the hope of stopping City winning the league to play for? If they have I certainly don’t recall it.

Regardless of a win tonight for the Reds, the chances of making the top four are all but non-existent and even the ‘lure’ of the Europa League isn’t going to be represent much in the way of a consolation. A win over City could at the very least give United the boost we need ahead of what’s naturally going to be two very tough games against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The recent 2-0 win over West Ham has given the Reds confidence again and also given David Moyes something to think about for tonight’s line up.

With Nemanja Vidic still suspended and Robin Van Persie injured, here’s my predicted line up for the match tonight:

4-2-3-1: David De Gea, Rafael, Phil Jones, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs , Marouane Fellaini, Danny Welbeck, Juan Mata, Shinji Kagawa, Wayne Rooney.
