Will Welbeck get the nod again tonight? The biggest game of the season for United represents a chance at salvation for not just David Moyes but also one or two of his players. The 1-1 draw at Old Trafford a fortnight ago has given the Reds a small glimmer of hope and although it will be an altogether different prospect in the Allianz Arena, dare we United fans just dream a little of causing an upset?

Marouane Fellaini isn’t fit to start tonight, something that’s probably cheered a few Reds up so we can expect to see Phil Jones deployed in midfield as there’s doubts as to whether Ryan Giggs is 100%. With Rafael out if Jones is used in midfield then it could mean Antonio Valencia gets deployed at right back, handing Ashley Young a chance on the wing.

Here’s how I see the Reds lining up tonight for the season saving game against Pep Guardiola’s men:

David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Phil Jones, Michael Carrick, Ashley Young, Shinji Kagawa, Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney. 4-2-3-1.

Do you agree? Feel free to comment, suggest and abuse below:

I trust Yeung One Trik is not on…….Very, very poor player……I was encouraged when Fellaini was left behind………It really is a win/win situation ….should we win ….fantastic……should we lose Moyes is gone….Should he stay, he’ll sign Lescott….

Good line, but i prefer somebody else in place of young.

    For 1,
It wasn’t a fortnight ago, it was last week.

I do like the starting XI you have picked but I do feel like Moyes will opt for a more defencive option and maybe even play Rooney in the centre of midfield along side Carrick.
My prediction for the starting XI:
    De Gea
    Valencia Vidic Evans Buttner
    Young Kagawa Rooney Carrick Welbeck
    Chicarito
4-5-1 when we do not have the ball and changing to an all out 4-1-3-1-1 when we do have it seeing Kagawa slot in behind Chica and Carrick just holding in front of the back 4 to nullify any threat from Mario Gotze

Munich have no choice in some positions as Javi Martinez and Bastian Schweinsteiger are both suspended and I don’t see Pep playing Muller due to his awful 1st half against us at OT. For Munich I have gone for a more attacking 4-2-3-1
    Neuer
    Rafihna Dante Badstuber Alaba
    Lahm Kroos
    Robben Gotze Robert
    Mandzukic

I think we may just scrape through with a 2-2 draw on the night because Munich are poor at home against English teams and we have form going into it.
